Combination hormonal contraception is one of the effective contraceptive methods, but it can have many adverse effects especially in women with coexisting medical diseases. This clinical review will help you check the safety of hormonal contraception in women who have one of the chronic diseases such as venous thromboembolism, hypertension, dyslipidemia or diabetes. So you can choose the safest method of contraception in women with chronic medical conditions, and you will have some information about the interaction of oral contraceptives with other medications which can alter the blood level of concentrative steroids when administered together.
